Addressing Left/Lib Talking Points
It's gonna happen. At dinner with friends, a family visit, or a trip to the doctor's office. Some fragile and frightened soul is going to barf up ... The Talking Points.
Some housekeeping
Recently, I polled readers about their level of interest in another COVID-19 story. Poll results favored more information, but the dataset did not reach “statistical significance.” So, I’m not writing about the pandemic today.
To reiterate
I won’t detail how the virus likely began its spread at the 2019 World Military Games in Wuhan, China (population 11 million). And I won’t write about the athletes at the games who developed strange flu-like symptoms while housed in the athletes’ village. And I won’t suggest that the sick athletes spread the virus to their respective countries after returning from the Games in the Fall of 2019.
Consequently, there’s no reason to share how my wife and I contracted strange flu-like symptoms in November 2019, long before COVID-19 reached America.
About those Talking Points
As the subject of Left/Lib Talking Points is irritating to many, and nauseating to the rest, I’ll be brief.
From the Hendersonville Times, covering the May Day “protests” in Hendersonville and Brevard, NC:
“This country was built on immigrants and the rights of the worker,” [one protestor] said. “I’d hate to see that get ruined by an oligarchy taking over. So, we're out here to stand against tyranny.”
And to “save our democracy,” no doubt.
Let’s step through the Talking Points and expose some flaws:
Our nation was “built on immigrants.” | On the face of it, a straw man. Retracing the development timeline of North America, everyone would have been considered an “immigrant” at some point. Even those we call “Native Americans” came from somewhere else. So, when they arrived in the land that became America, they too were immigrants.
Rather, we are a Nation of Ideals, Precepts, and Laws. Our Freedoms are safeguarded by Laws based on those Ideals and Precepts. At our Nation’s inception, it was declared that all people are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, based on the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God.
Among other things, Nature’s God declared that those He created “shall not kill; shall not steal; shall not bear false witness.”
Illegally entering a sovereign nation is an act of lawbreaking. Setting aside legitimate claims of asylum, which are the exception, breaking the Immigration Laws of the United States of America renders the illegal immigrant a criminal.
Illegal immigrants steal jobs and money (through social benefits) paid for by legal citizens. Some illegal immigrants commit crime—including robbery, rape, and murder—which would not have occurred had they not gained entrance, or had they been immediately deported upon apprehension.
There is a legal process for entering the United States, obtaining work, and seeking legal citizenship. That process is subverted by those who disavow the idea of national sovereignty in favor of the global community. Still others hate America as constituted and desire to recreate our Nation according to Socialist-Communist doctrine. In either case, erasing the borders furthers their objective. From their perspective, the America of our Founders must die.
Our Nation is being “ruined by an Oligarchy!” | When a nation is controlled by a small group of elites, a wealthy family, or a cabal with a vested interest that excludes the interests (and God-given rights) of all others, you have Oligarchy.
Oligarchy is the new funny word the Left/Lib tribe says over and over again. They’re fascinated by the sound. “OLIGARCHY! OLIGARCHY! OLIGARCHY!” they cry in the streets or on the stairs in front of a deserted government building (before conducting a nonsensical sing-along).
“What is ‘Oligarchy?’” asks an innocent bystander or local news reporter.
Crickets. Most of the time. Because, to most of the agitated chanters, “OLIGARCHY” is just a word. Like Conundrum, Sociopath, or Narcissist.
Has America at any time been an Oligarchy? That’s an intriguing question in that our last Chief Executive lacked the mental capacity to execute the duties of the Office of the Presidency (for most of his four-year term).
Then the question becomes: “Who was running the government of the United States of America between 2021-2024?”
Perhaps a small group of elites, a wealthy family, or a cabal with a vested interest exclusive of all other national/personal interests?
Ooops! An Oligarchy.
Our Nation is being destroyed by the “tyranny” of the rich! | Donald Trump didn’t need the hassle, let alone peril, of the presidency. He’s already rich and has lived The Life of Riley for quite some time. Sure, Donald is bombastic. But he’s also very street smart. Trump is just the guy you want to be renegotiating the whopper-jawed “deals” the political class has been screwing up for the last half century. Look, love him or hate him, but Donald Trump wants to see America fixed. He’s a Patriot.
Elon Musk didn’t need the vitriol, anger, hatred, and death threats that came with overseeing DOGE. He was already fabulously wealthy and busy with other large projects (like rescuing astronauts stranded on a space station by the previous administration, or planning the extension of human civilization on Mars, or selling the EVs that his former lovers swooned over before they became his current haters and climate change disavowers).
Why would Musk jump into the cesspool of politics, knowing full well that his wallet and reputation would take a beating? I’m guessing that his oversized brain and genius cohort were certain that they could cull waste, fraud, and abuse from the filthy lucre of the “dark web” of political cronyism and abject greed. So, a Patriot.
Why not pick on the real wieners?
Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, et al?
These are the Tyrants of Oligarchical Proportions who bowed to Biden administration pressure and censored non-conforming words on tech and media platforms. These are the plotters and compliers who lied to us about the origins of COVID-19, the efficacy of the “vakseen,” masking, and distancing (but we’re not going to talk about it).
Hello! First Amendment, anyone?
Speaking of Joe Biden, his retroactive/blanket pardon of friends and family before leaving office ensures that none of the Biden clan or associates will be prosecuted for the influence peddling and grifting that led to their fabulous enrichment.
Was the Biden clan an Oligarchy?
Handling Talking Point Trolls
It’s a generalization, I know. But my observation and experience are that the Left/Lib cohort is angrier, ruder, and less open-minded than their conservative counterparts. At that dinner with friends, during that family visit, or in that doctor's office waiting room, some fragile and frightened soul is going to barf up … The Talking Points.
Immigrants! Tyranny! Oligarchy! And, yes, Democracy!
Let them rant until the wind goes out of their sails.
Then, if you’re brave, you may want to attempt a CALMversation with the ranter. It won’t be easy (the wind—it do blow). You’ll have to hang on to your dignity for dear life. But the rewards could be epic. After all, these poor souls deserve not to be frightened by the Talking Points continuously spoon-fed to them by the Tyrants of Oligarchical Proportions.
In short, you could be the hero in this story.

As a guy that was sticker than I had ever been and would stop breathing when I laid down back in Feb 2019, COVID piece would be welcome.
I agree with this one, let them blow then respond with logic and facts. They won’t know what hit them.
