Echoes is part of the war related memoirs niche, which is a zillion volumes wide and deep. As I tapped out the opening paragraph in 2020, I knew that my effort would fall well short of the medal platform.
Still, for a brotherly experience relative to the Vietnam War period, it’s as satisfying to read as it was to write. And, yes, I swam like hell to the very last period. No shame in not medaling in a very strong field.
That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

Amen brother.
My first book attempt was for a small market that is hard to break into. It was so bad that I am revisiting it.
My first novel attempt ended up only being practice because it was written for a non church audience and my role as pastor put that one into the dead file.
Second novel attempt is hard to write because of some dark stuff in it, however written like the author is in the pastoral realm.
Ironically, this submission came in as I was grabbing my computer to work on some writing.
