Chancellor Biden's Chilling Taunt
The President's divisive declaration of group-hate can work in the Republican's favor
Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic. — President Joe Biden
Against the stark backdrop of Independence Hall bathed in blood-red spotlights, with dual Marine Corps guardians standing at-the-ready behind the President, Joe Biden — the apparent Divider-in-Chief — set the tone for the mid-term and general election seasons of 2022/2024 respectively.
And in so doing, the President excoriated a large segment of the American population having already deemed millions of Trump supporters “semi-fascists”1 in a speech in Rockville, MD, on September 1. Noteworthy is that a large segment of “mainstream media” (ABC, CBS, and NBC) opted not to carry Biden’s Independence Hall speech, though CNN and MSNBC did air the President.
So, What Just Happened?
It’s an understatement to say that the gloves are off. And it is no overstatement to say that Thursday night’s speech was anything but “presidential” or that Biden’s intent was to unite Americans. Quite the opposite: POTUS intentionally drove a wedge into the Republican party proper with the intent of distracting conservative candidates and voters alike from four essential campaign items:
Domestic/foreign energy policy
The economy/inflation
Border security
Law and order
These four monolithic areas of concern should be front-and-center in every Republican/Conservative campaign speech from now until eternity. Should Republican/Conservative candidates/voters take Biden’s bait and pour all of their time and energy into rebutting the President’s assertion regarding the “MAGA Republican” threat, all may be lost for the GOP — not only in November, but in 2024 as well.
The focus should not be Donald Trump.
Focus, Focus, Focus
Now that Biden has hurled a high-and-tight fastball, a word to the wise is in order: Keep your eye on the ball. There is no other way to hit it out of the park. And, frankly, hitting it out of the park in the next two election cycles is an existential matter concerning The Republic for which all of us should be standing.
